The Halal Guys Review

It has been 5 days since we last got out of the house during the coronavirus pandemic. Our stored food has been getting low and I've been losing interest in cooking. Today, after thorough consideration, we decided to take a short walk, get some fresh air, release stress and grab a quick dinner — The Halal Guys.

Regular platter with all the vegetable toppings

This was our second time trying the Halal Guys. We had a Falafel sandwich then and liked the flavor. This time, we ordered a Combo sandwich which include gyro(beef) and chicken, and a Gyro Platter. The difference between the sandwich and the platter is that with the platter, it comes with rice and you can choose sizes, either small or regular.

For now, only Take-out or delivery are available because of COVID-19.

By default, they added our choice of meat, rice and chopped iceberg lettuce. And then they asked our choice of toppings(vegetables). For the simplicity, favor and portion size, we always say "everything", even though I might have to take out some jalapeño while eating. Sometimes I cannot handle spicy food as well as I think.

Platter comes with Spoon, fork knife, salt, pepper & napkin

The White sauce, the reason why I wanted to go back to this place, is still yummy and the hot sauce is a bit spicy(of course). The combination of these two sauces are pretty good.

Gyro(beef) platter $10.49 (regular)

It's funny that the cashier thought we got a chicken sandwich, instead of a combo. It looks like the server did put in more chicken than beef.

Combo(gyro & chicken) sandwich $8.49

If I go back to this place again, I might get a platter over a sandwich because it seems to have a lot more vegetables. If you'd like bread and easier-to-eat, go with the sandwich. If you want rice and more vegetables, and prettier serving style, go with the platter. If you get the regular size platter, it will be more filling too.
